How To Make Your Bedroom More Relaxing
Do you have trouble sleeping? Wake up tired?
Try our tips for a more relaxing bedroom:
1. Keep your bedroom clean and tidy ✨.
It's very easy to pile up the laundry on a chair and stack up a huge tower of books on your bedside table but it can also cause stress. Keep the things out of sight to minimise distractions when falling asleep. 💤
2. Your bedroom decor. 🍀
When was the last time you re-decorated your bedroom? It shouldn't be overstimulating but calm and relaxing. Neutral or toned colours and minimal furniture might work great for you.
3. Weather-appropriate and comfy bedding ❄️
Did you know that there are different types of pillows, appropriate for your sleeping position? Make sure your duvet is not too thick or too thin for the season. If you regularly wash your quilt, keep in mind that there's a chance it started to break down inside and it might be time for a new one. 🛏️
4. Lighting - add a dimmed bedside lamp for a soft light just before bed. This will help you relax and unwind. 💡
5. Make sure the room temperature is right. 🌡️
It might be tempting to warm your house at night but it's actually better to sleep in a cooler room. The ideal temperature should be between 18 and 20°C.
6. Check your mattress.
A comfy mattress can help you fall asleep faster and help your body relax. For a long time, I didn't realize my back pain was caused by a bad mattress! 🛏️
7. Keep the phone out of your bedroom.
If you're struggling to fall asleep, it might be tempting to check your phone but it's not a good idea. Try leaving your phone out of your bedroom to avoid temptation.
8. Get rid of rustling mattress protectors.
If rustling mattress protectors are keeping you awake or cause you to overheat at night, try PeapodMats - washable bed pads that are soft, rustle-free, and 100% waterproof. They also stay in place without straps!
