Your Back To School Survival Tips Are Here! 📚
Going back to school can be an equally exciting and overwhelming time for you and your child. It can certainly be challenging to get back on track with routine, after the holiday time! Here are some of our tried and tested tips to help you:
1. Create a meal plan for packed lunches or school snacks to keep them both healthy and interesting. Instagram is a perfect place to look for lovely inspirations! 🍱
2. Set a realistic bedtime and make sure your child goes to bed at the same time every day. If your child starts school in September, you can start bringing bedtime forward gradually by 10-20 minutes every day. After all, sleep is crucial for child development! ⏰
3. Get up at the same time every day. It might be tempting to have a lie-in on weekends but it can easily disturb your routine.
4. Read books together every day. This won't just help your child get used to sitting in one place for longer periods of time but it will also help develop their concentration. 📚
5. Take your child shopping for new school uniforms and school supplies. Choosing a new pencil case or lunch box might be enough to get them excited for school 🤩🤩
6. Let your child help with labelling all school items. This will help create more excitement! ❤️
7. Some children start wetting the bed when going back to school. This is called secondary enuresis. It's a term for children who were dry overnight for at least six months but started to wet the bed again. Don't worry! You don't need to put them back in the nappies and this is usually temporary.
